The Calimesa Men's Golf Club

  • The 2017 Club Championship is in the books.  This was a highly competitive tournament that came down to the last hole.  Paul Christianson beat Glenn Young to become the 2017 Club Champion.  This is the third time Paul has been Club Champ and the second time in the last three years.  Adam Erard took third place. David Stevens captured the first flight championship by beating Dale Andrews and Lorenzo Arreola by 18 shots.  Wow!  John Stockham won the second flight championship with a total score of 203.  Click here to view the complete Club Championship results.  Congratulations to our winners!

  • The final major of 2017 is upon us.  The Senior/Super Senior Club Championship will be held on September 23 and 24 at Yucaipa Valley Golf Club.  This is a two day aggregate score tournament played from the white tees and is flighted.  There are two flights (Senior and Super Senior) and all members participating will be assigned to their flight based on their age as of 9/23/17.  The Senior Flight includes members 50 - 59 years old and the Super Senior Flight is for members 60 years old and older.  All members that fall within the age ranges are eligible to participate.  There will be a 7:30 am shotgun start on Saturday and an 8:00 am shotgun start on Sunday.  Saturday pairings will be assigned by flight.  Sunday pairings will be assigned by flight and order of finish on Saturday.  An optional skins game (gross and net skins) will be played for $20.  Junior members (18 - 49) are welcome to play in the skins game on Sunday.

  • Just an FYI.  The USGA is retiring their Tournament Pairing Program (TPP) software that our Club currently uses to score all tournaments.  They have launched a new platform called Tournament Management.  Our Tournament Committee will be using TPP and Tournament Management in tandem while making the transition to the new software. Leaderboards, reports, email communication, websites, etc. may look a little different.

  • The Handicap Chairman has noticed a few Members have been posting their tournament scores.  The SCGA's TPP software that the Tournament Committee uses to score tournaments will automatically post all scores.  Members that post their score end up haveing it posted twice.  Please do not post any score from any Men's Club tournament.

  • The year to date payouts have been updated through the Club Championship.  Click here to see who the leading money winners are.

  • Just a reminder that under Section 4-3 of the USGA Handicap System Manual, "All scores for handicap purposes, including tournament scores, are subject to the application of Equitable Stroke Control (ESC).  This mandatory procedure reduces high hole scores for handicap purposes in order to make handicaps more representative of a player's potential ability....  ...ESC is used when a player's actual or most likely score exceeds a maximum number, based on the table below,..."

  • Please contact Handicap Chairman, Isaac Kerr, with any questions about applying the Equitable Stroke Control rule when posting scores.

  • The annual Spoto/Ebert Invitational is set for June 1 - 4 of 2018.  Golf will be played at the Mojave Resort Golf Club and accommodations at the Colorado Belle in Laughlin, NV.  Additional details will be communicated over the next few months.

  • Due to the current condition of Calimesa Country Club, the Board made a decision to move the tournaments scheduled on 9/10, 9/23, 9/24, 11/5, and 11/19 to Yucaipa Valley Golf Club.  A revised Tournament Schedule will be published later this month. The Board will be sending communication with reminders of when and where tournaments will be played.

  • Pete Ruggles lost a Cobra S2 gap wedge during the Club Championship.  Please contact Pete if you have it.
