NEWS - September 2016

    • The Board has received a lot of feedback about the current condition of the course.  On September 2, the Board had a meeting with General Manager Bryan Addis to discuss the issues.  During a severe heat wave in the middle of August, the course's main irrigation pump broke.  This led to a drop in water pressure that prevented the course from being watered for almost seven days.  By the time the pump was repaired, the damage had been done.  However, Bryan has assured the Board that as the weather begins to cool in September, there will be a focused effort by the maintenance crew to overseed the course and bring the condition back to where it should be.  As a result, the annual Membership Drive that was on the Tournament Schedule for October 9 has been rescheduled to October 23.  Click here to see the revised Tournament Schedule.

    •  The second and final round of the Yu-Cal Cup was played at Yucaipa Valley Golf Club on August 28.  A dominating performance by the Calimesa Men's Golf Club (20-10) secured the Cup for the second consecutive year.  The final point total was 37.5 to 22.5.  Congratulations to all Members that played and represented the Men's Club.

    • The Men's Club tournament originally scheduled for Sunday, September 11 has been rescheduled to Saturday, September 10.  This is due to a Saturday tournament scheduled in May that had to be rescheduled to Sunday at the request of Calimesa Country Club.  Contact Tournament Chairman, Doug Owen, to sign up.

    • There has been some questions brought to the Board about how to play the irrigation pond located between holes 3, 6 and 7.  The Board has determined that the pond will be played as a lateral water hazard.  The chain link fence surrounding the pond will be the boundary of the water hazard.  Please follow USGA Rule 26-1 when a ball is hit into the fenced area.  In the near future, the chain link fence posts will be marked red to easily identified as a lateral water hazard.
