The Calimesa Men's Golf Club

  • The Men's Club is hosting the annual Membership Drive on November 1 at Seven Hills Golf Club.  This tournament is funded by the Men's Club to encourage Members to renew their membership and also invite new Members to join.  Now is the time to get those new Members to come see what The Calimesa Men's Golf Club is all about.  The tournament format will be an individual low gross/low net with a Callaway flight for the new Members that don't have a handicap.  There will be a shotgun start at 8:00 am.  Don't forget we gain a hour on Sunday.  Roll your clocks back one hour.  Please come early to check in and renew your membership.  Members can join, renew or reinstate memberships by clicking here.  Members that pay online will receive a discount by entering the promo code "ONLINE" during checkout.

  • The Senior/Super Senior Club Championship was held at Seven Hills Golf Club and Hemet Golf Club on September 12 & 13.  David Goodrich defended his 2019 Senior Club Championship title by shooting a two day total of 151 to win by 5 shots over Sergio Michel.  The 2020 Super Senior Club Champion is Rick Felker.  Rick edged out David Stevens to win by four shots.  This is Rick's first Super Senior Club Championship.  Congratulations to our Senior and Super Senior Club Champions!  Click here for the complete Senior/Super Senior Club Championship tournament results.

  • The annual Turkey Shoot will be held on November 15 at Hemet Golf Club.  This tournament is Club funded.  Pick your opponent and play for the Big Turkey ($10 Stater Bros gift card).  The looser gets a handshake.  There will be an optional skins game for $10.  Members that don't have a match are welcome to register as a single.  The Tournament Committee will do its best to make sure each Member has a match.

  • There has been some interest from Members in going to play Rams Hill Golf Club in Borrego Springs, CA.  Golfweek rated Rams Hills the 3rd best resort golf course in California behind Pebble Beach and Spyglass.  The course is about 1.5 hours south of Palm Springs.  Tee times have been booked for the morning of Friday, November 20, 2020.  There are still a few spots open.  If you're interested, please call or email Justin Mallinckrodt (951-704-9913  justinwm86@gmail.com) by Tuesday, November 17.

  • After a long discussion about when to reschedule the 2020 President's Cup, the Board decided to cancel it.  This tournament's unique format and required timeline made it impossible to fit into the remaining schedule.  The Board wanted to preserve the President's Cup and retain it's legacy.  The President's Cup will be scheduled in early 2021.

  • It's time for the Annual General Meeting (AGM).  The AGM is a time to reflect on 2020, celebrate our success, listen comments & suggestions from our Members, elect officers, and look forward to 2021.  The meeting will be held at Hemet Golf Club on Sunday, December 13, 2020 and starts promptly at 6:00 am.  The meeting agenda is as follows:

  • Effective 1/1/21, the USGA will be migrating existing data into the new GHIN platform.  As part of this migration, if it sees an email address that is being shared by two different GHIN numbers (example: spouses sharing the same email address) the email address will be stripped from both numbers, resulting in the removal of this email address in the database.  To minimize the impact on Members, the SCGA has reached out via email directly to the duplicated email addresses, asking Members to provide a unique email address for each GHIN number.

Upon implementation of the new GHIN platform, in cases where there is no email address for a Member, including those email addresses stripped because of duplication, the Member will be limited in the ways he or she can post scores. Upon new GHIN platform introduction, existing Members without a unique email address will only be allowed to post via the posting station at courses, known as the GHP Golfer kiosk.  They will not have access to the mobile app or online posting (scga.org or ghin.com). The unique email address will be required to create a digital profile which will be used to access the mobile app and ghin.com.   Please direct questions to President, Michael Ebert.
