The board is doing all that it can to make sure tournaments are run as well and as smooth as possible for the membership and the board members coordinating and facilitating the tournaments.  Members can assist the board in accomplishing this goal by signing up for tournaments in advance.  Members can register on the sign-up sheet at Calimesa Country Club, call the Pro Shop, register on the website or call, text or email any board member.  Registering in advance is greatly appreciated.  If members fail to register prior to Sunday morning or if members register in advance and fail to show up for the tournament, the Tournament Committee will try to accommodate member's requests to play in a particular group.  However, the Tournament Committee must consider the number of members playing, group size, speed of play, open play on the course, etc. and must make pairings accordingly.

In the near future, there may be some course changes made by Calimesa Country Club.  The drainage ditches on holes 3, 4, 5 & 6, currently played as ground under repair under USGA Rule 25-1, may be changed to water hazards, marked by red stakes, and played according to USGA Rule 26-1.  Additional changes are being contemplated to the left side of hole 11 and to the right side of hole 15.  If and when changes are made, announcements will be posted on the website and prior to tournament play by the Handicap Chairman.

The USGA has a Rules of Golf mobile app that every member should download to their smartphone.  Perform a search in the app store of your device for "USGA Rules of Golf."  It's easy to use and should be utilized whenever a rule comes in to question during tournament play.  If there is ever any confusion on a rule, play two balls and bring the situation to the attention of a board member.  The board will review make a ruling.
