  • The annual Longo/Spoto Memorial Super Bowl Tournament held on February 7 successfully raised $500 for the Yucaipa High School Boys and Girls Golf Teams.  Additionally, members of the golf teams showed up and had an inside the circle contest on Hole # 9.  They earned another $215 from the contest.  I'm very proud of our membership that has continued to show support for junior golf.

  • Just a reminder that Twilight Golf will be starting in a few months.  This is a summer golf league that starts on May 11 and continues for 10 - 12 weeks.  It's open to men and women of any age.  4 players from each team compete weekly against other teams in their division on either Tuesday or Wednesday nights.  2 players play a 9 hole scramble format against another team.  Weekly points are earned for season long cash prizes.  Frances Adam is running the league and is looking for new teams or individuals that would like to join.  Please contact her at 909-795-4427 with questions about the league or to request an application.

  • The Tournament Committee is continuing to have Members show up Sunday morning to play in tournaments without signing up in advance.  This makes an already difficult job of running a tournament even harder.  If you are planning to play in a tournament, please send a quick email, text or make a phone call no later than the day before a tournament.  Tournament Chairman, Doug Owens, can be reached at ddowens929@aol.com and 909-649-1963.

  • For those that haven't heard, as of January 1, 2016, Calimesa Country Club was purchased from the Braswells.  Members of the Board have met with the new owner (Charles Rollins of Pacific Land Strategies, LLC) and will continue to work at keeping a strong mutually beneficial relationship for the Men's Club and Calimesa Country Cub.

  • The YTD payouts have been updated as of the last tournament held on February 21.  Click here to see the complete list.

  • The first major of the year will start on March 20 with the President’s Cup Qualifier. The President’s Cup is a handicapped match play tournament funded by the Men’s Club. The low 32 players from the Qualifier will be seeded in a single elimination bracket. The following rules apply to the President’s Cup:
    • Members must have participated in at least one Men’s Club tournament in 2016 prior to the President’s Cup Qualifier
    • All members will use their LI (Low Index) as of 3/15/16 for the duration of the tournament
    • The first match after the Qualifier must be played by 4/3/16.  All following matches must be played in consecutive weeks by Sunday.  The final match should be completed by 5/1/16.  Be aware that if you win your match, you may be playing every Sunday for five weeks.
    • If members can’t agree on a date and time to play their match, the default is Sunday at 8:00 am.  If one or both members can’t make Sunday at 8:00 am, the member or match is forfeited.
    • If weather prohibits the play of a match on a Sunday, all matches will be postponed for one week.
    • All matches must be played at Calimesa Country Club from the white tees
    • The member with the higher handicap gets the difference between his handicap and the lower handicapped member.
    • If the match ends in a tie, the match goes immediately into sudden death on the next hole and strokes are given based on the hole’s handicap. If a match is played during a tournament and members start on hole # 13, sudden death starts on hole # 13.
