For those of you who remember, our Men's Club played the Yucaipa Men's Golf Club for the Yu-Cal Cup from 2001 - 2006.  This was an annual Ryder Cup style tounament played between the Clubs for the Cup.  Our Men's Club won five of the six matches played.  The Cup is currently held by our Men's Club and is located above the computer in the Calimesa Country Club Pro Shop.  The Board's of both Clubs are interested in starting the matches again.  If the Yu-Cal Cup is played, there would be a qualifying process to determine what members play in the matches.  At this point, the intent is to find out if there are enough members interested in playing for the Cup.  If you are interested, please send an email to calimesamensgolfclub.com or leave a comment on the website.

As a refresher of some common rules that apply to most of us, under USGA Rule 27-1 b If a ball is out of bounds, the player must play a ball, under penalty of one stroke, as nearly as possible at the spot from which the original ball was last played.  Under USGA Rules 27-1 c If a ball is lost as a result of not being found or identified as his by the player within five minutes after the player's side or his or their caddies have begun to search for it, the player must play a ball, under penalty of one stroke, as nearly as possible at the spot from which the original ball was last played.

The SCGA has been publishing some great videos on common USGA rules.  The videos detail a rule and show an example of how the rule applies.  Videos will be posted on our website as they become available.  Click here to view all videos.
