  • It's time for the Club Championship!  The tournament will be held on July 29 & 30 at Oak Valley Golf Club and Soboba Springs Golf Club.  This is the second of three annual majors sponsored by the Men's Club.  This is a two day aggregate score tournament played from the white tees at Oak Valley, black tees at Soboboa and is flightted.  There are three flights (Championship, First, and Second) and all members participating will be assigned to their flight based on their current handicap index as of July 28. Regardless of flight, any member is eligible to win the Club Championship. Eligible members must have played in at least two Club tournaments in 2023 in order to be eligible to participate in the Club Championship.  There will be a shotgun start on Saturday and Sunday.  Saturday pairings will be assigned by flight and handicap index.  Sunday pairings will be assigned by flight and order of finish on Saturday.  An optional skins game (gross and net skins) will be played for $20.  Click here to download the complete rules.

  • Just a reminder.  Please do not post scores during a Men's Club tournament.  The Tournament Chairman will post all tournament scores.  Members are responsible for posting all non-tournament scores in accordance with USGA Rules of Handicapping.  Click here to view all information about handicaps.

  • The Board has received positive feedback when tournaments are scored immediately after play at the golf course.  As long as enough Members stick around to wait for the results, the tournaments will be scored and announced.  Gift card and skin payouts will continue to be done during the next scheduled tournament.  Closest to the pin payouts will be same day whenever possible.

  • The year to date points have been updated through the tournament played on July 16.  Click here to view the complete points list.

  • The Tournament Committee is starting to work on the tournament schedule and courses for 2024.  Members are highly encouraged to provide the Board with any suggestions for tournament formats or host courses.

  • The Tournament Committee has received positive feedback about the use of the Tournament Registration Sheet.  This was process implemented earlier this year to simplify registering for tournaments.  The Tournament Registration Sheet provides details about the tournament, allows Members to register & select a group to play with, and choose tees to play from.  This also provides Members real time transparent viewing of who's registered for the next tournament.  The Tournament Committee has decided to continue to use this form until further notice.  Reminder emails are still be sent out approximately one week before a tournament with a link to the Tournament Registration Sheet.

  • We can all agree that nobody likes slow play during tournaments.  Sometimes golf courses are busy and there's nothing that can be done to speed things up.  However, a majority of the time slow play is our own fault.  We can all do better to minimize the time it takes to play a tournament.  The Tournament Committee is going to identify and take action with groups that continually fall behind the pace of play and hold up the field.  Below are a few tips that can really help speed up the pace of play.
    • Always make sure your group is keeping pace with the group ahead
    • Walk or drive to your ball when your playing partner is hitting
    • Hit a provisional ball when there's a chance your ball may be lost
    • Line up your putt while your playing partner is putting
    • Putt out whenever possible
    • Don't delay hitting a shot to have a conversation or tell a story.  Have the conversation while driving the cart to your next shot.
    • Mark your scores when you arrive at the next tee
    • Watch where others in your group hit their drives and approach shots to reduce time looking for the ball
    • Always play ready golf.  There is no penalty for playing out of turn.
    • Don't be afraid to tell your player partners, "Let's pick up the pace because we're out of position with the group ahead of us."
