NEWS - July 2017

  • A correction needs to be made on the May/June newsletter.  Paul Christianson won the Treasurer's Cup and Josh Alesi won the Secretary's Cup.

  • The Board has received a lot of feedback on the current condition of Calimesa Country Club.  With this feedback in mind, the Board decided to revise the remaining 2017 Tournament Schedule.  Several of the tournaments scheduled to be played at Calimesa Country Club have been moved to Morongo Golf Club at Tukwet Canyon. Click here to view and download the revised 2017 Tournament Schedule.  The Board will revisit where tournaments are played during the Annual General Meeting in December.

  • The Club Championship has been rescheduled for August 19 and 20 at Morongo Golf Club at Tukwet Canyon.  Details will be posted in the August newsletter.

  • Just a reminder that if there are four Members playing together, no more than two golf carts can be taken.  If any group/pairing takes an extra golf cart, the group will be required to return it immediately or pay an additional cart fee.

  • The Spoto/Ebert Invitational was played at the beginning of June.  Another successful trip and tournament.  Click here to view the results.

  • In the interested of speeding up play during tournaments, there are a few tips that all Members need to remember:
    • Keep pace with the group ahead
    • Watch other Member's shots to avoid spending excess time looking for balls
    • Hit a provisional if there's a chance a ball is lost
    • Be prepared to hit while other Member's are hitting

  • Scrip as the Men's Club has known it at Calimesa Country Club has been eliminated. Members with scrip balances will be transferred to gift cards that can be used similar to scrip.  Gift cards with balances can be obtained from the pro shop.  Future tournament pay outs will be in the form of gift cards rather then scrip.

  • The year to date payouts have been updated through the tournament played on 6/25/17.  Click here to see who the leading money winners are.

  • The Board has deemed the drainage area on the right side of the fairway near the green of hole # 3 at Calimesa Country Club ground under repair.  Please follow relief from this area following the procedures under USGA Rule 25-1b.
