  • It's time for the Annual General Meeting (AGM).  The AGM is a time to reflect on 2018, celebrate our successes, hear comments & suggestions from our Members, elect officers, and look forward to 2019.  The meeting will be held at Morongo Golf Club at Tukwet Canyon on Sunday, December 16, 2018 and starts promptly at 6:30 am.  Morongo has set up the dining area in the restaurant for our meeting.  The meeting agenda is as follows:

    • Review of 2018
    • Congratulate 2018 Major Champions
    • Discuss 2019
    • Elect Board Members
    • Beat the Board Tournament

  • The Beat the Board Tournament will be played immediately following the AGM (8:00 am).  The format is a 4-man 2 best net balls.  The Board will field two teams.  Members may create their own teams and will be randomly selected to play against one of the board teams.  Any team that beats the board will place.  The board teams have to beat at least half of the teams in their flight to place.  Entry into the tournament is free!  An optional team gross & net skins game will be played for $10.  Contact Tournament Chairman, Doug Owens (909-649-1963 ddowens929@gmail.com) to register.  Singles are welcome to sign up.  Doug will try find everyone a team.

  • The 2018 year to date season points have been updated through the tournament played on December 2.  Click here to see the complete list.

  • The USGA has published a lot of information on the major rule changes that are effective, January 1, 2019.  A USGA Rules of Golf web page has been created on our Club website that has it all in one place.  Please take the time to familiarize yourself with all rule changes.  Click here to check it out.

  • Just a reminder that it's a privilege to be a Member of The Calimesa Men's Golf Club.  Being a Member of our Club requires adhering to the Club's Bylaws.  The Bylaws, in part, require Members to follow and abide by all USGA and SCGA rules.  The Section 8-4 (Penalty Scores, Handicap Index Adjustment, and Withdrawal) of the USGA Handicap System Manual states the following:
    • a. General
      A player must earn a Handicap Index. No player has an inherent right to a Handicap Index without providing full evidence of ability to the golf club's Handicap Committee. A Handicap Index must be changed only as warranted by the USGA Handicap System. Only the Handicap Committee where a player maintains a Handicap Index can adjust that player's Handicap Index. There must be no automatic increases at the beginning of a playing season or year. A Handicap Index is continuous from one playing season or year to the next. (See Section 6-1 and decision 8-4a/1.)

      b. Penalty Scores for Failure to Post
      If a player fails to post an acceptable score as soon as practical after completion of the round, the Handicap Committee has three options:

      1) Post the actual score made by the player;

      2) Post a penalty score equal to the lowest/highest Handicap Differential in the player's scoring record;

      3) Post the actual score and a penalty score

      The Handicap Committee is not required to notify the player prior to posting a penalty score.

  • All Members must post every eligible round played as defined in the USGA Handicap System Manual to avoid penalty scores.  Please contact the Handicap Chairman with any questions about posting.
