The Calimesa Men's Golf Club

  • The Pala Mesa Resort Golf trip took place on August 4 & 5 in Fallbrook, CA.  A skins game was played on Saturday afternoon and a four man two best net ball was played Sunday morning.  The weather was great, accommodations were nice, and the restaurant was fantastic.  Although it was a small turnout, it was a fun trip.  Hopefully there will be better participation next time.

  • The Club Championship will be held on August 18 & 19 at Yucaipa Valley Golf Club.  This is the second of the three annual majors sponsored by the Men's Club.  This is a two day aggregate score tournament played from the blue tees and is flighted.  There are three flights (Championship, First, and Second) and all members participating will be assigned to their flight based on their current handicap index as of 8/15/18.  Regardless of flight, any member is eligible to win the Club Championship.  Eligible members must have played in at least two Club tournaments in 2018 in order to be eligible to participate in the Club Championship.  There will be 8:00 am shotgun starts both days. Saturday pairings will be assigned by flight and handicap index.  Sunday pairings will be assigned by flight and order of finish on Saturday.  An optional skins game (gross and net skins) will be played for $20.

  • The Board was informed that the Arrowhead Country Club is punching their greens and overseeding their fairways just before our tournament scheduled on October 7.  Therefore, the Board is looking for another course to play.  More to come on the new course and tee time.

  • The second of two combined tournaments with the Yucaipa Valley Men's Golf Club is scheduled for September 9 at Yucaipa Valley Golf Club.  Both Clubs received good feedback about the last tournament played together on July 8 at Morongo Golf Club at Tukwet Canyon.  The Board will look at continuing these types of combined tournaments in 2019.

  • The final major of 2018 is just a over a month away.  The Senior/Super Senior Club Championship will be held on September 22 & 23 at Yucaipa Valley Golf Club.  This is a two day aggregate score tournament played from the white tees and is flighted.  There are two flights (Senior and Super Senior) and all members participating will be assigned to their flight based on their age as of 9/22/18.  The Senior Flight includes members 50 - 59 years old and the Super Senior Flight is for members 60 years old and older.  All members that fall within the age ranges are eligible to participate.  There will be a 7:30 am shotgun start on Saturday and Sunday.  Saturday pairings will be assigned by flight and handicap index.  Sunday pairings will be assigned by flight and order of finish on Saturday.  An optional skins game (gross and net skins) will be played for $20.  Junior members (18 - 49) are welcome to play in the skins game on Sunday.
